An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a leading SEND specialist school in East London.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to children with a range of SEND needs, including those in a resourced provision or PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities) classroom.
  • Assist with personal care, including toileting and hygiene support, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
  • Work closely with the teaching staff to adapt learning materials and provide tailored interventions that help each child reach their full potential.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere, enabling students to thrive both academically and socially.
  • Collaborate with therapists, educational psychologists, and external agencies to create the best outcomes for students.
Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant with experience working in an SEN setting, whether in a mainstream school, resourced provision, or within a PMLD classroom. This is a fantastic role for anyone considering a career in educational psychology, SEN teaching, or as a future SENCO.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant or within a similar role.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting children with a variety of complex needs.
  • Ability to assist with personal care and toileting where necessary.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
