We are looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting supporting children and young people aged 11-19 with ASD needs. This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, with a competitive pay rate of £90-£115 per day.

Located in the Leeds area, the school is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment where all students can succeed. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting their educational journey and emotional well being.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with ASD, helping them to access the curriculum and develop independence.
  • Support the delivery of tailored learning plans and strategies to address individual needs.
  • Assist with managing classroom behaviour, promoting positive interactions, and maintaining a calm and structured environment.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to monitor student progress and adapt support as needed.
  • Contribute to assessments and reports, ensuring the school's commitment to the development of each student is met.
  • Support students during breaks and in other school activities, ensuring their safety and well being.

Requirements:


  • Experience working with children or young people with ASD or SEND is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent, is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with young people.
  • A proactive and positive attitude towards supporting students' development and learning.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children (Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply).
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
