Senior AWS Spring Java Software Engineer

Contract Opportunity - Hybrid working from Central London offices.

We are offering an extraordinary opportunity to be part of a small, innovative team with a low process, high throughput culture. The team is working on a product that manages policy and configuration of security firewalls. We are looking for a senior engineer to help us build this innovative product. We are looking for contractors to help build out a public RESTful API.

Responsibilities:

• Participate as a technical contributor on a fast-paced project team of engineers involved in the development of new, cloud-based security products.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering through implementation, testing, and maintaining multiple code modules.
• Contribute to the development of aggressive project goals and schedules.
• Create innovative solutions for complex technical problems.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Extensive technical depth in core Java, with a focus on scalability.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Experience using automated API documentation tools such as Swagger.
• Ability to deliver high-quality features with extensive automation coverage, including experience applying test-driven development methodology.
• Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting issues in a distributed environment.
• AWS
• Computer science or equivalent degree with 7+ years of experience.

Desired Experience and Skills:

• Kubernetes, Jenkins, CI/CD Pipelines.
• Knowledge of security technologies including firewalls and IPS.
• Experience working in a start-up environment.
• Experience working on a SaaS product.
• Agile software development experience.
