SLR has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineering Senior BIM Technician to join our Engineering & Design Service Line based from either our Edinburgh, Glasgow or Stirling offices.You will be a key member of our BIM team, reporting to our BIM / CAD Manager, working collaboratively with engineering disciplines and the wider company to ensure that our technical drawing and 3D modelling requirements are met. This will involve helping to develop designs for power, infrastructure and built environment projects using Autodesk Civil 3D and Infraworks.Closing date: 14/06/2024The role Joining as part of our Engineering & Design team, but potentially providing wider support across the global business; you'll have a fantastic opportunity to support our Engineering team to develop designs for power, infrastructure and built environment projects.The successful Senior BIM Technician will be experienced in using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Vehicle Tracking. Experience in Infraworks is desired, but training can be provided.Duties would include:Preparing Civil 3D earthworks & corridor models from engineer’s sketchesDetailing earthwork quantities from civil 3D modelsPreparing 2D detail drawings from engineer’s sketchesMentoring junior members of BIM team and checking their workResponsibility for document management and the issuing of drawingsSupporting BIM / CAD Manager in maintaining CAD standards, best practice and processes for modelling, content creation and advanced digital developmentsManaging procurement of site data, such as stats searches and topographical surveyAs part of a multidisciplinary global consultancy, you will have the opportunity to work across other sectors with SLR staff, in disciplines including the Advisory, Environmental Management and Compliance, Land and Water and Environmental Specialist Services Groups.
