Senior Building Surveyor

Our client, a respected consultancy in the building surveying sector, is currently seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join their expanding team. Based in Yorkshire, this medium-sized organisation undertakes projects throughout the UK. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to potentially set up a new office in the southern region, ideally in the Oxford or Berkshire area, though there is flexibility regarding the location.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting comprehensive building surveys across a variety of properties and projects
• Managing dilapidations cases and effectively liaising with tenants
• Leading and mentoring a graduate or junior surveyor, providing guidance and support
• Preparing and delivering detailed reports, specifications, and schedules
• Offering expert advice on property maintenance, repair, and refurbishment
• Handling project management duties from inception to completion
• Ensuring compliance with current building regulations and legislation
• Developing strong client relationships through excellent communication and professional service

Job Requirements:

• Extensive experience in building surveying, with proven expertise in dealing with dilapidations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent report writing and presentation capabilities
• Ability to work autonomously and manage a flexible working schedule
• Sound knowledge of UK building regulations and standards
• Proficiency in relevant software and survey tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in building surveying or a related field
