About you
Youll have a strong background in the trade, ideally holding a recognised qualification in Carpentry and Joinery at Level 3 or above. Your hands-on industry expertise will form the foundation for inspiring the next generation of construction professionals.
Teaching and training will be at the heart of what you do, so a teaching qualification such as a PGCE or Cert Ed, or a willingness to work towards one, is essential. While an assessor and teaching qualification is advantageous, we offer staff development in these areas, so candidates that do not have these qualifications must be willing to work towards achieving them. Youll also bring experience in delivering high-quality training and supporting learners to achieve their full potential. A solid understanding of apprenticeship standards and end-point assessment processes will help you thrive in this role.
You should also have strong leadership skills as you will manage and support a small team of trainers, helping them deliver outstanding results. Whether conducting assessments, leading appraisals, or fostering a culture of continuous improvement, youll be confident in motivating others to succeed. Strong organisational skills are key, enabling you to manage caseloads, monitor learner progress, and maintain high standards across the provision.
Were looking for someone who is proactive, adaptable, and an excellent communicator. Youll enjoy working collaboratively with employers, colleagues, and learners, building positive relationships to meet shared goals. Your passion for teaching and developing others will be matched by your ability to stay organised and focused in a busy environment.
If you also hold assessor or verifier qualifications, have experience in the Further Education sector, or are familiar with Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), thats an added bonus. Most importantly, youll have the drive and enthusiasm to make a real difference in the lives of our learners and the success of our Apprenticeships department.
Below is a list of some of the key skills, qualifications and experience we are seeking for this exciting opportunity.
