We're currently hiring a Senior Category Manager for a leading online FMCG business, based in London, with hybrid working. This business is known for their innovation and are one of the fastest growing in their sector, operating across multiple markets.
They are now seeking a Senior Category Manager to join their team. This is a leadership role, with a broad remit, covering Commercial and Operations, and reporting into the Supply Chain Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Lead a small Category team, create structure, support and development plans
Category Ownership
: Manage and take full responsibility for designated product categories, ensuring they align with business goals and customer needs.
Commercial Strategy & Insights
: Develop and execute category plans to drive sales, margin growth, and market share. Identify new trends and opportunities to expand product lines and improve the commercial offering.
Procurement & Supplier Management
: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, availability, and timely delivery of products. Negotiate terms and agreements to drive cost efficiencies.
Data-Driven Decision Making
: Use customer insights, market trends, and performance data to inform strategic decisions and category plans. Monitor KPIs and analyze category performance to identify areas for improvement.
Product Development
: Identify new product opportunities and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to bring innovative products to market.
Promotional Planning
: Plan and execute promotional campaigns in collaboration with the marketing team to drive customer engagement and sales growth.
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience in category management, ideally within D2C/FMCG/hospitality.
A strong commercial mindset with experience in driving both sales and profitability within a category.
Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of managing supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to make informed decisions and optimize category performance.
Experience working in a start-up, scale-up or SME is beneficial.
The successful candidate can expect a salary between £60,000 and £75,000, plus excellent benefits.
