The service aims to reduce and prevent the cycle of abuse by helping young people to both recover from their underpinning trauma, but also to acknowledge and address their sexual behaviours.

**Due to the nature of the role and the activities involved, we are only able to consider applicants who have a full driver's licence and a car**

Supporting young people in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, can enable them to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for. The home is a centre of excellence for young males who have exhibited inappropriate or harmful sexual behaviours.

Job Title: Senior Children's Support Worker

Salary: £25,646 - £31,054

Sleeps: Paid at £100 per sleep

Location: Welshpool, Powys

Hours: 40 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Rota: 3-week rolling rota

Shift Pattern: A mix of the following shifts (Early: 8am - 4pm, Late: 3pm - 11pm, Full: 8am - 11pm)


**We can only consider candidates for the role who hold a Level 3 NVQ qualification for Children or Young People or equivalent**

About the Role


  • To be responsible for co-ordinating shifts in the absence of, or when delegated by a Group Leader.
  • To co-ordinate shifts, managing and supporting staff ensuring their operation of good working practice.
  • To be involved in the direct delivery of services to young people by the aims of the company.
  • To assist the management team in providing the highest possible standards of care guidance, support and protection for the young people and cooperate fully with colleagues.
  • To carry out any of the practical tasks outlined on individual job lists.
  • Record keeping and administration as required to include supporting auditing and maintenance of children's files.
  • To be constantly vigilant on health and safety matters and to share concerns of the same immediately with line management.
  • To complete mandatory and regulatory training as required by and provided by the organisation
  • Offer ideas & organise stimulating activities and new experiences to enable poorly motivated young people to achieve.

Requirements:


  • Full UK manual driver's licence and access to a vehicle is essential as you may be required to transport young people from time to time
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children and Young People or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-year experience leading a team
  • Minimum age of 21 due to the needs of the Young People
