King's College Hospital Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Clinical Fellow to join our Intra-Operative Monitoring team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing essential monitoring services during surgeries to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

The post holder will work closely with the lead Consultant for intra-operative monitoring service, working closely with the lead to ensure there is a high-quality IOM service provided to the neurosurgery team at King’s College Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform intra-operative neurophysiological monitoring during surgeries.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to provide real-time data and feedback.
  • Interpret and analyze neurophysiological data to ensure accurate monitoring and patient safety.
  • Assist in developing and implementing monitoring protocols and procedures.
  • Participate in training and mentoring junior staff and trainees.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and stay updated with the latest advancements in intra-operative monitoring.

Person specification

General Criteria

  • Eligible for registration with the GMC
  • MB BS (or equivalent)
  • Substantial experience in clinical neurophysiology
  • PhD, MD (original research)
  • Exposure to intra-operative monitoring
