Senior CNC Programmer / Team Leader

Our client, a well-established machining business based in Birmingham, is seeking an experienced Senior CNC Programmer to lead a team of six highly skilled individuals. This is a hands-on leadership role that also forms part of the management team, reporting directly to the Managing Director. Our client is in a great financial position, experiencing consistent growth and profitability.�

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the CNC team, overseeing work allocation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, precision components. This role requires a balance of strong technical expertise and the ability to guide, mentor, and manage a team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading a team of six CNC specialists, managing workloads and overseeing project delivery.


• Hands-on programming, particularly for complex aerospace and automotive components.


• Working with a range of machinery including Hurco and Brother.


• Proficiency in Fanuc and Heidenhain software systems.


• Reporting directly to the Managing Director and contributing to the wider management team.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Demonstrable experience in CNC programming


• Previous experience in a leadership or team management role within a CNC environment.


• A strong technical background, ideally within the aerospace or automotive sectors, with experience in producing complex components.


• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to optimise processes.


• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
