Role: Senior Coastal Engineer
Salary/Rate: £ market rates (inside IR35)
Location: Hybrid - 2-3 days p/w + site travel
Contract Duration: 6-12 months

A chartered Senior Coastal Engineer is required by a consultancy working with some of the biggest government, infrastructure, defence, and security projects in the UK.

This Senior Coastal Engineer role is hybrid based between working up to 3 days per week in a local office (multiple available throughout the UK) and the remainder of the week working remotely or travelling to UK sites as required. Site travel will be expensed.

The Senior Coastal Engineer role will be a 6-12-month contract, paying market rates inside IR35.

This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role, it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

Role Profile/Responsibilities:

• A Chartered Civil Engineer.
• Extensive experience in design delivery, with expertise in multidisciplinary projects.
• In-depth knowledge of ocean waves, tidal theory, extreme value statistics, nearshore wave processes, and sediment transport.
• Proven experience in designing coastal structures such as flood defences, sea walls, breakwaters, revetments, and beaches, in accordance with relevant codes and standards like BS6349, EurOtop manual, and rock manual.
• Proficiency in planning and overseeing the use of numerical modelling to simulate wave propagation, tidal flows, hydrodynamics, and more.
• Lead a skilled team in executing technical design projects with precision, adhering to industry standards and delivering exceptional quality.
• Craft comprehensive briefs, define scopes of work, and contribute to persuasive bid proposals.
• Efficiently manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring successful delivery to key milestones and program objectives.
• Collaborate closely with teams both domestically and internationally to provide integrated design solutions.
• Maintain rigorous adherence to quality assurance standards throughout the design process.
