Senior Content Manager (Climate and Decarbonisation)Are you an experienced content specialist, with strong knowledge of, and passion for, the topics of climate change adaptation and resilience or decarbonisation?Do you have a solid understanding of how these issues relate to civil engineering and infrastructure?Do you have excellent writing, editing, fact-checking and proofreading skills across digital and print publications and a wide range of content types?Are you looking for a role that will allow you to research, create and curate amazing content, leading a small specialist team?Our client – a global membership organisation - is looking for a Senior Content Manager to deliver the core climate and decarbonisation engineering knowledge programmes, and this might be the perfect opportunity for you.Key factsThis is a full time, permanent contract.Starting salary of £55,000 per annum plus benefits that include life assurance, private medical insurance, and an income protection schemeHybrid working: blending 2-3 days a week working from our client’s office in central London, with homeworkingThe roleThis is a critical role, with the purpose of providing members and the wider profession, with tools, guidance and knowledge that address the challenges posed by the climate and nature emergencies. The post holder will drive programmes (focusing on decarbonisation of the employer’s own activities and improvement of the resilience of their own systems) alongside shaping their knowledge content. You will lead on providing ‘through-life’ CPD: developing new codes and guidance, and creating robust, researched thought-leadership, that positions this global membership organisation as a model of excellence in this area.You will drive the core climate and decarbonisation engineering programmes and shape the knowledge content for the built environment and infrastructure, and establish connections with new experts and senior industry stakeholders to enhance knowledge programmes in these areas. Leading a team of two specialists, you will oversee the production of written, illustrated, film, and podcast content through thorough research, writing, commissioning, and editing, tailored for a professional engineering and built environment audience.You will use your fantastic stakeholder management skills to build relationships with key strategic partners in support of these programmes.The ideal candidate will have:Significant experience of working in a content programme management, specialist editor or similar role in the areas of climate change adaptation & resilience or decarbonisation, with a demonstrable knowledge of how these issues relate to civil engineers and infrastructure.Proven ability to manage and lead the delivery of complex programmes.Outstanding and meticulous writing, editing, fact-checking and proofreading skills across digital and print publications and a wide range of content types.Evidence of successful editorial project management and delivery of an annual multi-channel editorial plan. Superb content & editorial judgement, with the ability to think critically with a clear awareness of the needs of a specialist engineering and built environment audience.Impeccable grammar, punctuation and literacy skills.People management experience.Experience managing budgets.
