Our client, a leader in the automation sector, serving the Oil & Gas industry, is currently seeking a Senior Controls Engineer for a contract role. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your expertise in electrical engineering, SCADA, PLCs, and instrumentation while contributing to cutting-edge projects.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of five years' experience developing integrated control system solutions
- Extensive experience throughout the full project lifecycle: from system specification to design, development, testing, and on-site commissioning
- Proficiency in PLC and SCADA systems, Such as Siemens, Allen Bradley, Rockwell
- Strong understanding of control panels, electrical installation, and instrumentation solutions
- Ability to develop and deliver detailed design documentation
- A degree or HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Systems, or a related discipline
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards professional registration
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Engineer or Project Manager in developing project Gantt charts
- Contributing to and updating task & procurement lists
- Peer review of documents created by the project team or other teams
- Attending contract meetings with the Lead Engineer or Project Manager as required
- Conducting site surveys as necessary
- Developing functional design specifications (FDS) and detailed design specifications (DDS)
- Quantifying and building quotations for client-initiated design changes
- Providing input into the design review process for subcontractor designs, panel designs, etc.
- Developing project modules, including PLC code, SCADA scripts, mimics, communication drivers
- Creating site work documentation such as risk assessments, method statements, and site test documentation
- Developing operation and maintenance (O&M) documentation
- Undertaking full integrated system testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), installation, and commissioning
