Senior Corporate Accountant

ROLE
 
The Senior Accountant is responsible for the delivery of the monthly consolidation and annual statutory accounts for entities in the UK and the Netherlands along with driving process improvements in the underlying ledgers that support the preparation of the disclosures. The individual will also have a key role in delivering the Group Annual Report, related disclosures, Shareholder reporting and will act as one of the main points of contact in the external audit process.
 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
·Monthly Consolidation and Legal Entity management accounts overview, including intercompany and investment elimination.  
·Review and preparation of statutory accounts in the Netherlands and UK and supporting the Group Annual Report process, including liaising with the tax team for the preparation of the tax disclosures.  
·Manage the statutory playback process to ensure SAP aligns to the statutory accounts.
·Shareholder Reporting (Monthly and Ad-Hoc) including BS & IS reporting into monthly BPR which goes to shareholders; Consol Mgt Accounts which SWM require on quarterly basis; Annual German regulatory reporting requirements.
·Oversee Dutch, Danish, and Norwegian corporate accounting per local regulatory requirements.
·Liaise with Deloitte and coordinate the statutory audit process.
·Work with the Tax team to calculate, validate, post, and reconcile monthly tax entries.
·Responsible for  IFRS16 accounting.
·Manage the ERP+BPC reconciliation to ensure system alignment.
·Work with Corporate finance team to provide monthly analysis and integrity review of hedging.
·Coordinate and oversee the completion of Spirt half-year and year-end Judgement Papers.
·Coordinate and manage the regular Issues Log calls, internally and with Centrica.
·Involvement in the annual impairment and decommissioning reviews
·CMAPP Commitments and HSE Policy
·Promotes a positive Incident Free Workplace culture by driving HSES and process safety performance and regulatory compliance through adherence to company standards & procedures, including the CMAPP and HSES Policy.
·Perform nominated emergency response role/duties and maintain the necessary competencies to perform these duties.

Key Technical Skills and Competencies


·Strong technical IFRS and UK GAAP knowledge
·Advanced group consolidation and statutory accounts preparation skills
·Strong Excel capability and ability to organise and summarise large quantities of data
·Strong organisation skills
·SAP and Statutory software experience preferred
 
Education

·University Degree or equiv.
·Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA)
 
Work Experience

·Experience of roles preparing, aggregating and challenging financial information;
·Experience in dealing with varied stakeholders through matrix working;
·Experiencing of working in a team with varied stakeholders;
·Experience of SAP ERP preferred
