Senior Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer Remote (once a month in London) £70,000 - £80,000 About Us: We re looking for a driven and dependable Senior Data Engineer to join our Engineering team and help deliver an ambitious roadmap of new data products and services. You will help to empower people to take control of their own finances. You have the chance to make a huge impact to the company and, ultimately, on the financial wellbeing of our customers. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and workflows to ensure reliable data ingestion, processing, and storage. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions. Implement and manage data infrastructure on AWS using services such as S3, Redshift, RDS, EMR, Lambda, and Glue. Utilize Kubernetes for orchestration and management of containerized applications, ensuring high availability and scalability. Use Docker to containerize applications and manage their deployment in various environments. Develop, test, and maintain data transformation scripts using dbt (data build tool). Monitor and improve the performance, security, and reliability of data systems and pipelines. Implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance. Mentor and guide junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Qualifications: 5 years of experience in data engineering or a related role. Extensive experience with the AWS cloud stack (S3, Redshift, RDS, EMR, Lambda, Glue, etc.). Proficiency in using Kubernetes for container orchestration and management. Strong knowledge of Docker for containerization. Experience with dbt for data transformation and modeling. Proficient in SQL and Python, Java Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts. Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
