Are you a seasoned Data Scientist looking to make a significant impact in a transformative project? We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our client's team as a Senior Data Scientist. This role offers the unique opportunity to drive and shape data science initiatives that will enhance the profitability and efficiency of a dynamic business. About the Role: Type: Full-time Working Pattern: Hybrid Purpose: As a Senior Data Scientist, you will initially take a pivotal role in delivering a high-profile Data Transformation project, focusing on the development and implementation of innovative use cases to showcase business value. Once the project is complete, you will shift your focus to bolstering the company's data science capabilities, providing critical insights to underwriting teams to boost profitability and streamline operations across various departments. You will collaborate closely with the Data Science Manager to define strategic data needs and deliver actionable data consumption use cases. Your role will involve interacting with diverse teams within the business to gather, prioritize, and document both business and technical requirements. This will lead to the deployment of automated, optimized, and highly effective analytical solutions. You should be adept at designing and deploying end-to-end machine learning pipelines in a cloud environment, preferably Microsoft Azure. Key Responsibilities: Lead data science projects to drive critical business initiatives such as: Data cleansing and alignment for enhanced accuracy in premium and claims data. Partnering with actuarial teams for data mining to uncover insights that aid underwriters in identifying profitable market segments and modeling claims inflation. Employing data science and AI techniques to automate manual tasks, including sanctions checks and fraud monitoring. Collaborate with data scientists and actuaries to research, cleanse, analyze, and visualize data from both internal and external sources, extracting actionable insights. Support the business with proactive analytics and insights in partnership with the Data Science Manager. Upskill and mentor junior Data Scientists and Data Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and adaptability. Define and document strategic data requirements and facilitate effective communication with IT and Data Engineering teams to design data solutions aligned with business needs. Produce high-quality deliverables, including reporting specifications and visualizations, and establish best practices for data management across the organization. Essential Skills and Experience: Technical Expertise: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, with a focus on libraries and frameworks like PyArrow, PySpark, Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, Statsmodels, and Scikit-Learn. Experience with machine learning algorithms and cloud computing platforms, specifically MS Azure Cloud, Azure ML Studio, and Azure DevOps. Strong background in database management, SQL, and data visualization tools such as PowerBI. Advanced skills in data wrangling, preprocessing, and working with large datasets. Transferable Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities and critical thinking. Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills. Clear and effective communication, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Outstanding time management and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Creativity and a knack for innovation. Collaborative team player with a commitment to ethical judgment and data privacy.
