The ideal candidate will be proficient in Python and have extensive experience working with AWS. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in analysing complex data sets, developing predictive models, and providing actionable insights to advance the company’s mission. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be essential to deliver data-driven solutions that enhance the carbon management platform.Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain advanced data science models and algorithms to analyse large and complex data sets.Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses and validate models.Utilise AWS services to build scalable and efficient data pipelines and workflows.Perform data wrangling, cleaning, and preprocessing to ensure high-quality data for analysis.Visualise data and present findings to stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and incorporate them into the data science processes.Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.5+ years of professional experience in data science, with a strong focus on Python.Extensive experience with AWS services, including but not limited to S3, Lambda, SageMaker, and Redshift.Proficient in statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modelling.Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.Experience with data visualisation tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly.Knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.Knowledge of cloud security best practices.Previous experience in the sustainability or environmental sector.
