Senior Design Engineer NPD

I am currently recruiting for a consumer electronics company based in London who are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join their new product development team.

The candidate will need to be an already established Senior Engineer who has experience in leading projects and will need to feel confident leading project meetings with executives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead design studies (independently and in teams) to solve technical or consumer issues found in the development of a product.
• Take a leadership role in generating innovative concepts and technologies for the next generation of products.
• Mentoring junior team members, supporting all team members with the potential for line management.
• Take ownership of designs and drive these through concept, CAD and visualisation, prototyping and verification and collaborating with overseas manufacturing teams to ensure successful production.
• Able to apply proven understanding and experience of plastic injection moulding to a high volume.
• Adapt to work both independently and collaboratively, quickly shifting approaches as solutions gain support from the broader global engineering team.

Key Requirements:

• Degree level qualification in Product design, Mechanical or Industrial Design engineering.
• Proven experience as a Senior Engineer in a Mechanical or Product Design environment.
• Experience leading projects and proof of taking products from concept through to production.
• Experience with plastic injection moulding.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or CREO
• Ability to build prototypes and develop test plans.
• Experience in a consumer goods environment is preferred.
