Senior Design ManagerPermanent, Full-timeLocation: HertfordshireSalary: £85,000 per annum + packageJob Description:My client, a tier 1 main contractor, is looking for an experienced Senior Design Manager to manage the design aspects of tenders and live projects within their Hertfordshire Business. This position is project & office based with the flexibility to work from home on occasion.The successful candidate would be required to establish, maintain and manage effective project design resource and team profile at bid and delivery stages. Lead and provide a professional, comprehensive and sustainable design service for the customer and key partners and suppliers at bid and delivery stages.Key Responsibilities:Manage the design process through the RIBA design stages.Ensure completion and compliance of design management departmental procedures at bid and delivery stagesInvolvement with ‘design strategy’ and approachProgramme and manage all design reviews and coordination meetingsEnsure fully coordinated design strategy is in place and work closely with discipline lead designers to deliver coordinated design solutionsEstablish the need for and input into design reviewsEnsure that design is developed in line with commercial and construction requirements and the cost plan budget allowanceRequirements:Experience working with main contractorsExperience working on multiple disciplines: Education, Healthcare or Life SciencesDegree educated or HND / HNC or CIOB (advantageous)Experience on both single stage and two stage tendersRight to work in the UK.
