Senior Designer - Subsea Charting

Astute's Renewables team is partnering with A leading provider in mooring technology who delivers innovative solutions for rig moves, mooring services, and extensive marine projects to recruit a Senior Designer who specialises in 2D/3D subsea charting design work.
The Senior Designer role comes with a salary up to �55,000 (depending on experience) plus company benefits.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Drawing Office Manager you will:

• Provide comprehensive drafting and design services.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of TMS (Technical Management System) and QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) standards.
• Mentor and train junior team members to enhance their technical proficiency.
• Develop and refine expertise in geodetics and coordinate systems for precise project execution.
• Act as the interim Drawing Office Manager when necessary to ensure seamless operations.
• Lead company projects by executing CAD design, conducting initial engineering calculations, and offering technical support during specific project phases or rig move operations.
• Deliver onsite technical support as required, domestically and internationally

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

• Minimum 5 years of design experience in the Oil and Gas sector or Renewables offshore market.
• Hold an HNC/HND Engineering Qualification.
• Proficient in conducting initial structural calculation checks for design validation.
• Strong skills in CAD software, including Inventor 3D, AutoCAD 2D, and MicroStation Packages.

Personal skills

• The Senior Designer role would suit someone who is.
• Familiarity with geodetics and coordinate systems (advantageous).
• Demonstrated experience in managing multiple work scopes concurrently.
• Ability to work independently, show initiative, and operate without direct supervision.
• Strong creative and strategic thinking skills, capable of mediating and negotiating effectively with internal stakeholders.
