You will have an opportunity to work alongside inspiring leaders and act as a trusted advisor to Boards, CEOs, and C-level executives to drive the strategic transformation agenda and programmes to fundamentally turnaround businesses and put them on a sustainable growth. As a Senior Director, you will be working with Managing Directors to cultivate and foster new businesses and be part of shaping the future of the practice. Typically, the successful appointee will have a good mix of a range of the following and equally important soft skills:proven track record in operational restructuring including the optimisation of different aspects of a businessproven expertise in Turnaround and Restructuring gained in a major advisory firm – the blend of industry and professional services experience is essential for success in this roleexperience reviewing performance figures and analysing data to develop fact-based analysis to examine the root cause of problemsexperience in Turnaround Management, developing and implementing performance improvement solutions to solve under-performance on both cost and revenue linesthe ability to conduct an initial rapid diagnostic into the company's immediate and future cash needs, product profitability, cost base, major operational issues, market position and options for restructuring      excellent negotiating skills, ideally gained in an operational restructuring environment, whether in the context of commercial / supplier agreements, closure of an entity/divestment of assets, negotiating with banks, or dealing with management teams or trade unionsAs Senior Director, you will be recognised by the client as the lead for value contributed on engagements and therefore build his/her own credible network of contacts and referral sources with clients, professionals and institutions.The RequirementsWe are looking for candidates with several of the following attributes:Demonstrable leadership on large-scale projects including but not limited to operational restructuring, merger integrations, carve-outs, value creation, portfolio reviewsAnalytical rigour, preferably with financial and / or diligence experienceBroad operational experience across industry combined with advisory experience from a leading professional services firm or a Private Equity or an Investment bankProven record of delivering state-of-the-art solutions in evolving sectorsA tight grasp on current business trends (e.g., shareholder activism, ESG, consumer trends)Clear determination to deliver the latest thinking in a highly competitive advisory marketplaceCapacity to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and unpredictable environmentFluency in English is essential and, fluency in French, German or Spanish are a plusExperience of living and working in Europe (preferably the UK)2.1 or equivalent from accredited university or equivalent; MBA valuedIn addition, at Senior Director level:Evidence of converting business contacts and leads into sustainable, profitable revenue streamsDeveloping and executing a specific strategy focused on target clients and distinctive go-to-market propositionsSenior level experiences with the blend of industry and advisory experiences with proven track record in delivering changes and resultsA robust network across Europe in a variety of sectors including Consumer + Retail, Automotive + Manufacturing, Hotel + Hospitality, Technology + Software and, Business ServicesSoft SkillsStrong facilitation skills, forging consensus around credible, executable solutionsExcellent written and oral communications skills, confident presenterObjective, fact-based approach to problem solvingHands-on and non-hierarchical operator who is equally effective in managing up and down and relates well at all levels and culturesDriven by values and integrity, talks straight, builds confidence and leads by exampleDiversity & InclusionA&M’s entrepreneurial culture celebrates independent thinkers and doers who can positively impact our clients and shape our industry.
