Senior Energy and Chemicals Risk Engineer

£80 to £110K +benefits London / Hybrid Downstream /Midstream Insurance Sector Our client is a major player in the insurance risk sector where it is involved in the provision of cover for major high hazard sites and assets worth , including refineries, petrochemical, LNG and oil & gas plant, marine facilities, shipping and so on. The organisation s London office is enjoying exceptional levels of growth supporting EMEA and is looking to appoint another experienced chemical or mechanical engineer with significant operational/production exposure acquired in the hydrocarbons, refinery or petrochemical sectors. This is an unusually rounded role focusing on routine engineering surveys, but also business interruption reviews where experience of plant finance, scheduling and economics would be extremely useful. Activities would include core responsibilities such as condition/physical assessments, the description of site operations and processes, the evaluation of plant condition and integrity, the analysis of loss prevention/mitigation issues and opportunities and software-based desk top risk assessments. Additional business interruption responsibilities would extend to an examination/estimation of loss consequence on major incidents such as explosions or natural catastrophe and projecting and quantifying interruptions to supplier and customer agreements and material movements around major multi-unit sites. Exposure to and skills in in asset integrity evaluation and management, operational safety, plant engineering and maintenance would all be welcome. About 80 days travel annually can be expected throughout EMEA. Foreign language skills, particularly in Arabic and French, would be welcome.
