Senior Engineer - Nuclear

Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with our client a leading contractor specialising in civil engineering within major infrastructure sectors, including nuclear, highways, and large-scale projects. With a strong focus on safety, quality, and sustainability, they are committed to delivering complex engineering solutions that support the UK's infrastructure growth. We are looking to recruit a Senior Engineer for its Sizewell C site.
The Site Engineer role is vital for ensuring the successful delivery of this exciting project and comes with a salary up to �47,000 and private health care.

Responsibilities and duties
As a Site Engineer, you will:

• Assist in planning, monitoring, and ensuring work progresses according to the programme.
• Provide accurate setting out and manage control points, ensuring compliance with tolerances.
• Maintain accurate records, including as-built information, permits, and deviations.
• Implement and monitor adherence to safety standards, conduct inspections, and manage permits.
• Oversee site engineers, manage resources, and ensure smooth site operations.
• Perform inspections, oversee testing, and ensure compliance with quality management systems.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and project teams, ensuring clear communication.
• Manage temporary works and crane operations, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Support the development of junior engineers by providing guidance and training.
• Participate in project close-out reviews to identify areas for improvement.
• Any other duties as required.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Degree (MEng/BEng/Foundation Degree/BTEC) in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 3 year of diverse site experience in civil engineering.
