We have the pleasure of presenting this exciting and rare opportunity for a Senior Engineering Manager to work with one of our long established clients in County Durham.
The ideal candidate will be an Electrical and Mechanical Engineer with experience managing people and pioneering innovation and implementing change reporting directly to company Directors.
Suitable candidates will have the ability to present findings and ideas to company owners, whilst implementing new systems and working patterns. The role will involve supporting the engineering department through a period of growth and innovation.
Hours of work would be Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm.
Duties of the role will include;
To ensure the business objectives are achieved in an efficient manner with particular attention to production efficiency, product quality and staff safety
Supporting the whole engineering function and implementing the strategies as laid out by the business
Senior Management Responsibility for H&S activities and improvements
Member of the HACCP and Audit Teams
Analyse, propose and manage budgets, technologies and resources for projects
Plan strategies for the development of routine maintenance systems and upgrades to equipment and systems on schedule and on budget
Communicate and collaborate with other managers, stakeholders and contractors
Prioritise, delegate and supervise all engineers’ activities and deliverables
Manage, support and evaluate engineers’ performance
Hire new talent for the team and offer coaching and development opportunities
Provide input in strategic technical decisions and solutions, when needed
Build the entire technical documentation and project roadmaps
Asset Management
Manage and develop direct reporting staff
Manage and control departmental expenditure with agreed budgets
Ensure an efficient process for risk assessment and training of team
Produce and maintain, a rolling plan of continual improvement to enhance productivity via automation of processes
Ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are maintained, and at audit standard at all times, with particular attention to glass management
Attending personal development opportunities relevant to role, i.e. NEBOSH
Review chargehand capabilities, roles and responsibilities
Review shift working patterns, staffing levels and requirements including pay levels
Electrical resource – PLC resource
Upkeep/OEE Platinum systems
Site move – how can Engineering assist – prepare lines for relocation
Familiarisation of Engineering personnel with the new building and systems – prior to adoption as all maintenance will pass to Engineering in due course
Interim roles – road map of how the transition will take place
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate would hold a minimum qualification of HND level Engineering or equivalent
