Senior Estimator/Design Technician
Kettering
Hours - Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs pw
Salary - circa �30k
Our Kettering based client is recruiting a Senior Design Technician/Senior Estimator on a permanent basis to create and complete large Multi Utility quotes in a timely manner based on a weekly priority list making sure to adhere to company processes, procedures and standards to ensure that the Developers' requirements and timescales are achieved.
Main duties/responsibilities

• Responding to email queries and problems applicable to own competency level and escalating�where necessary to relevant departmental manager.
• Liaising with colleagues internally and external companies in a professional manner.
• Reviewing asset plans of existing utilities and developers technical drawings.
• Reviewing Electricity Point of connection plans and offer letters.
• Reviewing Water terms and plans.
• Completing Water, Gas and Electricity network studies by using Windebut & Gas Works.
• Producing Multi Utility cost models and proposal letters in a timely manner.
• Taking ownership of large/multi phase development.
• Reviewing and producing re-quotes and variations according to Developer requests.
• Providing regular updates to the Tendering Manager and Business Development Managers to�meet a weekly priority list.
• Reviewing and checking colleagues work.
• Working closley with Business Development managers and attend client meetings.
• Undertake the electronic filing regularly to ensure all correspondence is available and can be�easily found.

Person Specification
Knowledge requirements:

• Previous estimating experience - be able to estimate on your own and train others.
• Understanding of Microsoft office packages including Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD would be required.

Skills and abilities:

• Good timekeeping.
• Organised.
• Accuracy and an eye for detail.
• Able to work as a team but also able to work off of your own initiative.
• Team player.
• Good communicator and Listener.
• Able to solve problems.

Experience:

• Previous experience in an estimating role would be required.
• Experience using AutoCAD would be required at a basic level.
• Previous experience in a Project Management role/environment would be useful.
