You in?Real Chemistry is currently seeking an Associate Events Director to lead our event management team and support with all events and logistical aspects for cross-functional account teams. They will oversee and own faculty, and delegate management processes to include contracting, invitations, calendar management, logistics and organisation, and organising the team delivering the content. The leadership aspect of the role aims to position the value of the events team within the medical education team and includes managing a small team, resourcing staff to projects, managing budgets and supporting in new business proposals to elevate the events/meetings offerings where appropriate. This role offers a great opportunity for an individual wanting to take their career to the next level in leading a small and agile team within a larger company, and requires you to shape and grow the offering and team. We are seeking an individual with a passion for events to work with leading clients in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical devices, and health IT fields. Who’ll Love This Job:You are looking for a first step into a leadership role within a larger teamYou are passionate about events, specifically within the healthcare industryYou have experience managing or mentoring a team and are supportive and will advocate for your teams growth and developmentYou have a driven personality with excellent attention to detailYou enjoy working across multiple accounts and teams working on a variety of projectsYou are happy to travel and enjoy onsite managementYou are someone who enjoys getting stuck into all elements of a projectWhat You’ll Do:Event team lead:Managing direct reports within the event team and working with senior leadership in elevating and communicating the events and meetings offerings within the wider medical team, and communicating this with clients, pitches etcMonitoring and tracking resource within the event team and flagging additional staffing needs as we growSupporting integration with partner teams in the US, sharing and utilising resource as appropriateGrowing the event team and advocating the skillset to help the accounts teams deliver gold standard eventsBe a source of event and logistical expertise and knowledge to the accounts teams and the junior members of the event team, advising on processes and best practiceEvent management:Event management as part of cross-functional account teams in the running of in-person and virtual projects for clients. Supporting with logistical event tasks for account teams and working with other agencies to support successful event delivery for clients.Own faculty and delegate management processes, to include contracting, invitations, and calendar managementWork with 3rd Party suppliers (i.e., production, travel and venue finding companies) as and when necessaryDevelop and maintain project timelinesBuild sections of/review scopes of work to ensure all events and logistical elements have been considered and are scoped and included accuratelyDevelop onsite guides to ensure smooth running of events on the day and the Real Chemistry team’s attendance at multiple congressesVenue and restaurant searching in line with requirementsEnsure accuracy on all third-party platformsBuild relationships with key suppliers to enhance client experienceEnsure all necessary training is complete to comply with regulationsEnsure all finance processes are adhered to where needed; event budgets, approval of 3rd party invoices against purchase orders and reconciling expensesIdentify and understand industry trends to enhance client service deliveryAware of/learn and implement regulatory requirements and restrictions on venues, engagements, and hospitality in line with industry standardsWhat You Should Have:At least 4 years of experience in events and/or events-focused account managementKeen interest in event and meeting management with a passion for the healthcare or related science industryWorking knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and understanding of healthcare complianceExperience of line managing or ability to demonstrate mentoring experience and looking for that next stepUnderstanding of budgeting and cost management, and ability to manage third party vendors, brief, liaise and manage costsExceptional client services skills - Must be able to take and interrogate a brief and clear and concise written and oral communication skillsMeticulous organisation and prioritisation skills, ability to juggle multiple projects/events in parallelCollaborative teamwork and stakeholder engagement styleAbility to travel to onsite events internationallyReal Chemistry offers a comprehensive benefit program and perks, including a primary office location near in Moorgate, 25 days holiday, private medical insurance, dental insurance, pension contributions and a five-week sabbatical program.
