Title: Senior Facilities/Maintenance Officer

Location: Newham

Hours: Monday to Friday; 8.00 a.m. to 4.15 p.m. (36 hours per week)

However, as the depot operates 24/7, you must be willing to work late evenings and weekends when required.

Salary: �19.95 hour PAYE

Term: Currently until 29/12/2024 with the possibility of extension

Are you an experienced professional in facilities management and maintenance? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have a passion for delivering high-quality service? Our client is seeking a Senior Facilities/Maintenance Officer to join their dedicated team.

In this role, you will primarily support the Building Services Manager in delivering efficient and effective facilities management services. You'll be responsible for managing both in-house repairs and external contractors, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard. Your expertise in plumbing, carpentry, flooring, minor electrics, and other maintenance skills will be crucial in carrying out repairs and supervising the maintenance operative.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist the Building Services Manager in delivering both hard and soft FM services, stepping in when needed.
  • Supervise external contractors, maintaining safety standards and overseeing satisfactory completion of jobs.
  • Support the building service manager with major FM projects.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, proactively identifying issues and ensuring health and safety compliance.
  • Monitor and control expenditure on building materials and FM consumables.
  • Perform tests on fire equipment, generators, hydrant pumps, etc.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in delivering FM services.
  • Exceptional technical skills in plumbing, carpentry, flooring, minor electrics, etc.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and use discretion.
  • Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills.
  • Customer-centric mindset, with an ability to respond flexibly to service user requests.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to build strong professional relationships.
  • Must be IT sufficient
  • Health & Safety knowledge
