Our client, a leading organisation within the Defence sector, is currently seeking a Senior Financial Planning Analyst to join their team in Bristol. This permanent role is pivotal in supporting strategic decision-making and driving business performance through comprehensive financial planning and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of monthly reporting and financial forecasting processes, including communications, timetables, and data requirements
  • Provide senior leadership with detailed financial analysis and reporting, including management packs, financial committee packs, budget packs, and board packs
  • Ensure the integrity of financial models and projections through robust controls, documentation, and testing
  • Manage comprehensive cash flow forecasting, ensuring data accuracy and monitoring prior period forecasts
  • Assist the CFO with financial reports and presentations to the Board
  • Oversee the budgeting process for P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow
  • Collaborate closely with key internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and support business initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting by identifying opportunities to streamline and automate FP&A processes
  • Prepare and present financial reports, highlighting key trends, metrics, opportunities, and risks to senior management
  • Support the organisation with centralised financial reports and dashboards
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis and decision support to senior leadership as needed
Job Requirements:
  • Strong FP&A experience, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and variance analysis
  • Proficiency in managing financial reporting processes and producing detailed financial analysis
  • Understanding of financial controls and ability to ensure the accuracy of financial models
  • Experience in cash flow forecasting and ensuring data integrity
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership and key internal stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in financial reporting
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
