Senior Fullstack Java Developer Java, React, SpringBoot, Microservices, Web Services, Web APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, TDD, CI/CD, Investment Banking Canary Wharf A Senior Engineer skilled in fullstack development with Java and React is urgently sought by a leading Investment Bank to join their Capital Markets technology function. Specifically, you will be joining a growing team who are working on the integration and migration of data and services from a smaller firm that the bank has recently acquired. This will involve building out a Java-based ETL service to transfer large volumes of sensitive trade and deal data, ensuring quality is preserved and that it is easily accessible for Front Office staff, compliance & auditing. As a Senior Engineer, you will be involved in the design and implementation of backend Java/SpringBoot microservices architecture, a responsive React frontend for the users, and associated web APIs to integrate the two. Additionally, you will be required to deputise for the Tech Lead and so provide guidance and mentoring to Junior Engineers. To be successful in this role, you will require: Strong backend skills in Java and SpringBoot, with good knowledge of microservices Frontend/UI development skills using JavaScript/TypeScript and React Experience in the design and development of web services and APIs, and full front-back integration. Experience in data-heavy environments, preferably having worked on a similar migration project before and ideally exposure to document management systems such as Documentum or iManage A self-starter mindset with experience in the mentoring and guiding of Junior Engineers A background in finance is preferable but not critical.
