Senior GIS Architect

Do you have experience in architecting and implementing GIS solutions, ensuring that spatial data and mapping technologies align with your client's project and strategic needs?Do you deeply understand GIS principles, architecture, and best practice?If so, this Senior GIS Architect position could be yours!Salary: up to £87,000 + benefits (DOE)Fortice are supporting a global consultancy, which has recently won a large digital transformation programme with the UK Public Sector, for which they are scaling a team of GIS Developers and Architects.What will you be doing?Design, develop, and maintain GIS applications and services using ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS API for JavaScript or PythonCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications for GIS projectsCreate and manage geospatial databases, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.Develop and implement web-based mapping applications and interactive visualization tools.Perform spatial analysis and data manipulation using ArcGIS tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, SQL).Optimize GIS workflows and processes for efficiency and effectiveness.Provide technical support and troubleshooting for GIS applications and systems.Recommend improvements to existing systems based on your knowledge of the latest GIS technologies and best practicesPrepare documentation for GIS applications, including user manuals, technical specifications, and training materials.Mentor junior GIS developers and guide best practices and methodologies.The experience you might bring could include:You will demonstrate experience in GIS development, with a focus on ArcGIS and Opensource GIS technologiesYou will have experience in ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and ArcGIS Pro.You will have experience with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (e.g., React, Angular) and proficiency in GIS programming and scripting languages, particularly ArcPy, Arcade, Python and SQL.Solid understanding of GIS concepts, spatial analysis, and cartography.Experience with spatial databases (e.g., Oracle Spatial, PostgreSQL / PostGIS, SQL Server) and data management practices.It would be great if you had some exposure to AI/ML usage in GIS Applications Interested in hearing more?
