Senior Governance Manager / Birmingham / Permanent / Hybrid

My client, a key contributor to the development of a major UK government project, are seeking a Senior Governance Manager to join them on a permanent basis. Within this role you will be responsible for the full range of secretarial duties for the company and all its senior stakeholders. You should be experienced in the continuous improvement of corporate governance structure and ensure the smooth running of the secretariat function.

Role and Responsibilities:
Support the company secretary and the wider team to minimise risk and ensures frameworks are followed
Keep up to date and refreshed on internal governance changes
Take the lead on reviews of governance arrangements
Ensure that the annual corporate meeting structure is set and scheduled
Review team effectiveness regularly and work closely with the company secretary on that
Point out and identify process improvements and changes where necessary
Lead on the review of all governance documentation
Define board training requirements
Ensure timely, efficient and reliable advice on matters of governance
Ensure that there is an appropriate support structure in place for board members other senior stakeholders to meet their responsibilities
