They are the team clients come to when they require specialist modelling expertise. They excel across all model types, and are recognised experts In creating new models which translate complex problems clearly and transparently.The roleSenior Health Economists are responsible for efficient, high quality project management and execution on health economics (HE) and cross-collaborative projects. They are expected to provide subject-matter technical expertise as relevant across company projects and proposals and contribute to internal initiatives to improve the way the company works.Modelling examples: Model strategy and designModel testing and validationCost-effectiveness modelsBudget impact modelsPricing modelsDisease and natural history modelsComplex simulation modelsNational and local model review and adaptationThe main duties and responsibilities of the Senior Health Economist include:Act as the technical lead on health economic projects/health economic project tasks withclientsLead on conceptualisation and design of economic models with principal/director support as necessaryManage and support the development of high-quality and relevant economic models, technical reports and user guidesResponsible for quality review and validation of project deliverablesLead on technical model training for our clientsWork collaboratively with the HE team and other business units across HEOR, as well as with clients and external collaboratorsActively participate in research dissemination including publication and presentation of researchEmbed HE principles across projects, ensuring deliverables are consistently and clearly communicatedProposal development and contributing to project pitches as requiredResponsible for account development and partnership building to identify new opportunities for organic sales through follow on workContribute to internal training and development initiatives aligned to specific technical expertise/experience and designed to upskill the HE and wider teamSupport health economists and associate health economists by ensuring clear communication of tasks and expectations and working through challenges and issues collaborativelyProvides timely and relevant feedback to project teams on deliverablesComply with all internal reporting and project management systems, ensuring relevant information is kept up to dateContribute to internal team meetings as relevantTo be considered for the role of Senior Health Economics Modeller/ Health Economist you need the following: Education A degree in Science/ HealthcareA post-graduate qualification would be desirable.Experience Relevant experience working in market access or HEOR consultancy.Proven experience managing technical projects.A proven tract record of developing HR models for the life science industry.Proficient in Excel/VBA. Experience with other languages (e.g. R) desirableDemonstrable experience in business developmentGrowing experience in building client partnershipsLine management and leadership experienceReportingThe Senior Health Economist reports to the Principal Health Economist.You will have management responsibility for 1-2 Associate Health Economists.
