MUST HAVE HOUSING SECTOR EXPERIENCE

Our client is a leader in their field and are now looking for an experienced Senior Housing Officer who will be responsible to the Housing Manager for delivering a high quality, customer focussed housing service.

Duties and Responsibilities

* To oversee the applications and allocations process

* Oversee viewings, sign ups and new tenant visits

* Ensure all rent arrears are effectively monitored and action taken

* Provide an effective tenancy management service

* Ensure that all cases of nuisance and anti-social behaviour are actively managed

* Ensure regular estate inspections are undertaken

* Support, encourage and facilitate tenants to be involved in decision making

* Ensure that tenants are kept informed and consulted , including contributing to the preparation of the tenant newsletter

* Liaise and work with other agencies including housing, health and social care professionals as required.

* Support and manage the supported housing officer(s) including appraisals

* Ensure that good financial and welfare benefits advice is offered to tenants, using partner agencies where appropriate.

* Maintain accurate and up to date tenancy files and records ensuring that information is understandable and reviewed regularly.

Skills and Experience

* Demonstrable experience in a housing officer role

* Proven up to date knowledge of Housing law, welfare reform, legal requirements and practical application of legislation

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Good IT skills

* Extensive experience of housing management working for a local authority or housing association.
