Alexander Steele is working exclusively with a leading retail and wholesale business that is going through phenomenal growth and as a result they are looking to appoint a Head of HR at their HQ in Edinburgh.Salary for this role is £55,000 - £70,000 DOEThe role:As Head of HR you will be responsible for driving tangible business outcomes though HR practices that align with the company's business goals. Key accountabilities;Implement an effective staff resourcing strategy which supplies the business with the quality of people required to achieve the business objectives within appropriate cost and timescale parameters.Design and deliver a site wide learning and development programme at all levels across the site.Deliver an enhanced induction process combined with effective assessment (including linguistic appraisal) and upskilling.Ensure the implementation of HR site initiatives and to ensure that the HR functions delivers objectives consistent with the business aims and objectives.Ensure the effective management and control of all HR operational processes, systems and data maintenance in accordance with legislative and business requirements.Provide specialist guidance and ensure business compliance with all appropriate employment legislation.Ensure the effective management and successful conclusion of all Employee Relations issues.Ensure effective management of all employee welfare issues and mental health including short and long term absence/health issues.Issue an Employee Survey on an annual basis and collate all results in order to deliver an Employee Engagement Plan that addresses all areas highlighted in the survey.Provide statistics, data and standard reports as required.Ensure all disciplines, grievances and capability issues are managed appropriately and in line with legislative requirements.Communicate on a regular basis with the Head of HR regarding any appropriate issues.Fully engage in any Group HR projects, programmers or initiatives.Attend all site meetings as required.Promote and support all diversity initiatives.Work closely with the site management team and support all site based initiatives.Ensure all payroll issues are addressed and solved with pace and precision.Effectively manage, support and the development of the HR team.Experience:Minimum 5 years experience as a HR LeaderCIPD Level 5+Experience of working in a fast-paced environment (Retail or FMCG preferred), with the ability to embrace ambiguity and help support delivery across the business.Strong knowledge of HR best practices, labour laws and regulations.A proactive problem solver, with exceptional communication skills and a meticulous attention to detail.Strong management experience
