Job Introduction Reporting to the I&M Coordinator (IMC), the role is to act as Senior I&M Data Manager (DM) responsible for SCS's Data management service, databases, and I&M software platform for the duration of the project. This role will handle multiple aspects of administration, deployment, maintenance and troubleshooting and continuous improvement of SCS procedures and software. The Senior I&M Data Manger will be a key person in SCS's team, responsible for the configuration and management of the I&M Database and software platforms, providing management and support to the SCS Data Managers and technicians to ensuring consistency on data management across SCS, and ultimately ensuring SCS is able to comply with Hs2's contractual requirements relating to I&M data management. Role Responsibility Primary Duties of the role Full understanding of HS2's standards and specification for the I&M Databases, learning and understanding SCS's I&M software platform to an expert level, and full understanding of the role of the I&M software on the project. Responsibility for managing SCS's data management service to ensure good performance and compliance with contractual obligations. drive continuous service improvement for data management and continuously adapt it to the project requirements which change across the project duration. Responsibility for knowledge management regarding the I&M software, including training and support documentation specific to the I&M team and other users. Providing support where needed to all users and establishing a common level of ability and understanding among SCS's Data Technicians/Managers. Liaise with the SCS IT team, software subcontractor, and wider I&M team on access management, change management and incident management. Manage System Upgrades/Enhancements related to the I&M Database, in accordance with SCS's IT change processes. Report to the IMC on database management performance, including software Subcontractor performance, database performance, compilation of periodic consolidated summary, tracking of database IT support requests and close out, and tracking of monitoring instrumentation maintenance requirements. Other Specific Duties of the role Managing, planning and advising the SCS I&M Data Technicians/Managers tasks including (but not limited to) the following: ensuring all data is correctly entered into the databases, including configurations and calculations by the data managers/technicicans. validating the electronic processing of data into information. (e.g maintenance of ftp/API, configuration of graphs, data presentation, calculations, trigger configuration, profiles, gradients, track geometry, etc). ensuring that the monitoring data required for all SCS review meetings is available, including reporting against the agreed trigger levels; (e.g timely provision of graphs and monitoring reports) ensuring that copies of all processed monitoring data are available to the Project Manager within 24 hours or any other agreed period of time; Comparison of actual measurements with predicted measurements related to construction processes and against trigger levels. Reviewing data to identify trends, issues and anomalies (such as data spikes or jumps and missing data), and ensuring these are report to the I&M Managers and Subcontractors, following up on actions to close these out, keeping an updated instrument maintenance schedule, tracking tasks to ensure these are closed out, Understanding of I&M documentation to assess if configured sensors match design requirements, trigger levels are as required and provide naming to sensors. Provide initial response in line with Action Plans in case of trigger level breach. Ensure consistent approach on alert response. Being fully familiar with any buildings, structures, anomalies or other assets in the vicinity of the permanent works and other temporary works. Administration of the MissionOS system including everyday duties such as managing user access and data management, system health monitoring etc Promote Best Practice: Establish and agree standards to ensure a consistent approach is adopted across the different teams and by subcontractors (in line with the Contractor's I&M Statement) Advising internal teams and data suppliers on optimal methods for automatic data loading and configuration of data models. Manage and track support requests and ensure these are dealt in a timely manner by the database provider, handled locally where applicable. Identify and recommend different development items which would further improve the system. Provide liaison between MGS Technical Support Team and Contractor e.g. Collating feedback on the system and discussing with the MGS team Coordinating responses in the event of unexpected incidents. Encourage use of enhanced aspects of the system like contouring, predictions, extended data modelling, linking progress and construction parameters etc to ensure contractor derives most value from the system. The Ideal Candidate Required Qualifications and Skills A degree in a scientific subject, or equivalent relevant experience. Demonstrable experience in Construction Monitoring systems and knowledge of Instrumentation methods. Relevant CSCS Card. A strong work ethic and an enthusiasm to learn and develop and push the boundaries. Good knowledge of IT Systems including Microsoft office Desirable Qualifications and Skills Desirable experience in engineering / construction projects People Management skills, e.g management of teams of technical specialists Use of Autocad or similar SCS Railways #J-18808-Ljbffr
