Responsibilities:

As the Senior In-House Lawyer, you will be responsible for:

  • Drafting and negotiating contracts with business partners, suppliers, and customers
  • Providing legal advice and support on a range of matters including contracts, compliance, intellectual property, employment law, and corporate governance
  • Managing a suite of standard contract templates to support project development
  • Collaborating closely with the management team and providing legal support to facilitate future growth
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Providing general and commercial legal support to businesses in the group, including advice on tender proposals, financing, and other ad-hoc legal issues
  • Proactively identifying risk areas and developing risk mitigation solutions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
  • Assisting with company secretarial matters and document management
  • Becoming an expert resource on complex regulation in the electricity sector
  • Assisting in the delivery of risk management strategies and compliance across the organisation

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Qualified lawyer with a strong academic background
  • Experience practising commercial law, preferably in the energy or construction sector
  • Renewable energy experience preferred, but a strong interest in the sector will be considered
  • Knowledge of contract law, corporate law, and compliance
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong commercial awareness

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

In addition, the following criteria would be an advantage:

  • Knowledge of the regulatory landscape in the electricity storage and/or generation sectors
  • Experience in the understanding and management of complex regulatory issues
