Senior Infrastructure Engineer (9 month FTC) with likely extension/sLocation RemoteThis role will focus heavily, and require, Azure migration experience and knowledge.The VacancyWe’re recruiting for our client who is a leading housing provider in the south of England who needs a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their team.This is a 9-month fixed term contract, working 37 hours per week.Here’s the facts about the role: As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll play a lead role in enhancement of the Cloud infrastructure, designing and deploying improvements and transitioning services from the on-premise data centre to Azure. You’ll ensure the technology always works and ensure all information is safe. You’ll assist with designing IT infrastructure, including the hardware, network, security, telephony and other systems and technologies, and lead on the management of this, to enable the organisation to achieve its objectives and efficient and effective working for all IT users.The senior infrastructure engineer will be proactive in managing the IT infrastructure both cloud and on premises, as well as communications systems, ensuring the network and systems are kept up to date and secure, meet the client's needs, perform efficiently and are always available when people need them.You’ll assist the Infrastructure Manager with designing and planning for the infrastructure required to support operations, ensuring sufficient infrastructure capacity exists to meet system requirements for growth and any new systems during the financial year.You’ll have experience in a similar role within a structured IT department.You must have hands on experience along with competencies in the following;AzureO365Microsoft ATPMicrosoft ExchangeCitrixVMware / Virtualisation TechnologiesIT NetworksPowerShell ScriptingSQL ManagementData Centre ManagementSAN technologiesCloud TechnologiesProject Management, preferably PRINCE2 Foundation levelITIL foundation or understanding of service management principles.IT SecurityA strong understanding of Microsoft based network infrastructures along with comprehensive awareness of existing and developing technologies is essential.
