Senior Java Software Engineer

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer to join one of the largest financial services clients located in Birmingham for a six month ongoing contract. The chosen candidate will be sitting in the loans engineering group and working on a large scale and long term initiative in overhauling their current ledger database and system for loans by rebuilding a brand new one in the cloud (the team is specifically working with GCP). The candidate will be working in an agile and sprint environment, assigned Jira requests and coding in Java to build these services that make up the ledger database.This role is an onsite role and requires 5 days/week in office in Birmingham.Must haves:• Proven experience as a Java developer• Strong hands on experience with spring framework• Programming experience with languages like Python• Experience working in an enterprise environment• Experience working within an Agile environment• Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis and object orientated programming • Ability to contribute through the complete SDLC from requirements to deployment using Git, Jenkins and other similar tools.• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases• Experience with Rest APIs, and java frameworks such as Dropwizrd
