Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

White label Recruitment are very excited to be working with an extremely reputable and market leading manufacturing company who are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join expand the design team. The company manufacture bespoke special purpose machinery and are based in South Manchester.

Due to a growing order book, and the constant development of new products, the company is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their busy and growing mechanical design department to be involved with innovated design throughout the full product life cycle.

Package:

• �50-60k depending on experience


• 38 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Determine customer/process requirements and produce technical documentation.


• Design components and assemblies using 3D SolidWorks CAD software and create detailed 2D assembly drawings.


• Liaise with suppliers for component selection and generate accurate bills of materials.


• Collaborate with electrical design and controls engineers to establish system requirements.


• Support machine commissioning activities to ensure successful FAT & SAT.


• Communicate project status to project leads for proactive planning.


• Develop technical documentation, including risk assessments and machinery manuals.


• Provide occasional on-site support for customer meetings and project scoping.

Key Skills:

• Proficient in 3D CAD software, particularly SolidWorks


• FEA experience, preferably with SolidWorks Simulation


• Skilled in hand calculations for drive systems, thermal expansion, conductivity, and stress


• Experience in bespoke/special-purpose machine building and design


• Knowledge of robotics and automation


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications/Experience:

• Degree/equivalent or higher in Mechanical Engineering


• HND, HNC, BTEC


• 8+ years of industry experience
