Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - MEP / Building Services 



Central London or Ashford, Surrey – Hybrid Working



£40k - £60k + Benefits                                   



Consultancy / Construction / MEP / Building Services / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer / Intermediate Mechanical Design Engineer



This role is for a team playing senior mechanical design engineer or intermediate mechanical design engineer ready to step up to senior level. You will join the MEP team of an established SME design consultancy, (a team of circa 60) working on a wide variety of challenging and interesting projects.



This role will see you working on a hybrid basis or going to the office daily, if that’s your preference. It’s a professional environment with a really strong team ethic where you will feel like a valued and trusted part of the team from day one.

Responsibilities




  • Detailed design drawings with a specialisation in mechanical system design.

  • Preparing technical specifications and schedules and design development reports.

  • Taking projects through from inception to completion and handover.

  • Undertaking survey work.

  • Production of feasibility reports.

  • Attend site progress meetings and review installations.

  • Supporting junior staff.

  • Maintaining good client relationships.

  • Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams.



Experience Required




  • Preferably a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.

  • Mechanical design experience in the building services sector.

  • Chartered or working towards chartership would be advantageous although not essential.

  • Great interpersonal skills, a team player and a genuine interest in helping others.
