Reporting into the Design Manager as part of the engineering design team, your responsibilities as the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will include:

• Producing designs for a wide range of automated special-purpose machinery
• Producing mechanical and material calculations
• Diagnosing modifications and improvements to existing equipment
• Ensuring design & manufacturing feasibility of solutions

Essential experience:

• Previous experience in bespoke machinery design
• Confident knowledge of material handling systems
• Sound experience of design for manufacture
• Be confident in managing your own projects from beginning to end
• Supporting manufacturing and installation activities
• Mentoring and support junior members of the team
• Be able to communicate with colleagues & customers effectively

Desirable skills:

• Experience in SolidWorks
• Experience in AutoCAD
• Experience of the coil processing industry
• Experience of machine assembly and installation
