Monday to Friday, 38 worked hours per week. In the office.

We do operate a flexi hour system so it is possible to work the 38 hours in four days

Main Duties : ��

Sales Support & Innovation��

1. Establish customers technical and project timescale requirements and document accordingly.��

2. Determine project and product development costs to establish project viability. ��

3. Participate in Customer visits to support Sales activities and provide technical expertise.��

4. Support Sales in the preparation of concept designs, delivering concepts through Phase Gate 1 to meet the technical,commercial and delivery requirements of the customer and the business.��

Departmental Efficiency ��

5. Provide guidance and assistance to Design Engineers to ensure a consistently high level of departmental performance.��

6. Ensure Design "output" is consistent and correct irrespective of project.��

7. Ensure all drawings and documentation produced by Design are checked and approved for use prior to release.��

8. Ensure testing, experimentation and trials are documented and filed appropriately.��

9. Monitor departmental operating performance, report on departmental measures at SMT meetings to provide higher ��

� � levels of success. ��

10. Ensure housekeeping requirements are accepted, improved and maintained in the design office and lab areas.��

11. Work with the Technical Director to allocate resource, hold project reviews on a regular basis and ensure project ��

� � � delivery on time.��

Departmental/Functional Innovation��

12. Develop tools and techniques to establish proof of compliance through simulation, rapid prototyping and testing,��

� � � allowing the department to use these tools to produce better product designs.��

13. Identify improvement opportunities, team-working within and with other departments to implement effectively thereby ��

� � � improving quality, increasing capacity and/or reducing costs.��

14. Develop design solutions to implement in new products and/or equipment that will provide an operational benefit to ��

� � � the business.��

15. Work under own initiative to develop new ideas and their implementation.��

16. Ensure processes and procedures are reviewed and updated to improve departmental and company performance.��

17. Develop where appropriate, technological innovations that provide a competitive advantage � � � � �

Support Activities��

18. Provide technical support to all departments as and when required.��

19. Provide technical advice and support relating to international safety standards so that new products are developed to comply with approval specifications and achieve �'right first time' success rate.��

Desirable Requirements :��

1. An aptitude for man management, an ability to engage with, and influence people to achieve .��

2. Team player.��

3. Working knowledge and practitioner of CAD systems.��

Essential Requirements :��

1. Good organisational skills.��

2. Good working knowledge of NPI systems, world class development systems and good working practise. ��

3. Good communicator and equally good listener.��

4. Problem solver and an ability to remain "unphased" by technical issues.��

Hours of Work :��

1. Normally Monday to Friday - Day shift � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � � ��

2. Overtime may be needed to be worked when required by the business.��
