Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Salary/Rate: £ market rates (inside IR35)
Location: Hybrid - 2-3 days p/w + site travel
Contract Duration: 6-12 months

A chartered Senior Mechanical Engineer is required by a consultancy working with some of the biggest government, infrastructure, defence, and security projects in the UK.

This Senior Mechanical Engineer role is hybrid based between working up to 3 days per week in a local office (multiple available throughout the UK) and the remainder of the week working remotely or travelling to UK sites as required. Site travel will be expensed.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer role will be a 6-12-month contract, paying market rates inside IR35.

This role is inside IR35 - Due to the service of the role, it will now be based on an Umbrella solution.

Role Profile/Responsibilities:

• Chartered Mechanical Engineer. 5yrs minimum
• Experience in design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
• Sound knowledge in mechanical equipment, such as pumps, blowers, screens and chemical dosing plant as well as an in-depth understanding of current UK design standards and working practices.
• Strong understanding of legislation such as CDM and ATEX.
• Manage a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
• Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
• Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
• Work closely with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.
