Senior Ocean freight Export Operations - Manchester

Shift pattern - Monday-Friday

Location: Manchester

Salary: Up to �40,000

We have an exciting opportunity for an Ocean Freight Export Operator to join a well-established freight forwarder renowned for their expertise in air, road, sea, and warehousing services. As the Senior Ocean Freight Export Operator, you'll play a crucial role in our team, ensuring that every shipment is handled seamlessly. You'll oversee the end-to-end process of ocean import logistics, from tracking shipments and managing documentation to coordinating with customs and resolving any issues that arise. Responsibilities

  • Although not a supervisory role, your role will involve supporting the team with your knowledge and expertise the industry
  • Your role will also be to support the growing Ocean Import/Export team with key insights.
  • Oversee & Independently handle shipments in the role of Ocean freight Exports in accordance with quality standards, including documentation, booking, shipment control, transport insurance, accounting, and customs handling
  • Provide customer support in conjunction with the Sales Department, including occasional client visits when required
  • Key account Management would be an advantage, and will be a prominent part of your role.
  • Handle complaints in line with BIFA Terms and Conditions, including correct KPI recording
  • Communicate with our UK, Overseas offices, and agents
  • Focus on ensuring the most cost-effective service solutions are being utilized without risk to service levels

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience working within Freight forwarding, ideally in Sea freight Operations
  • Extensive experience within sea freight Operations
  • Previous experience in Ocean freight Import operations
  • Knowledge of BIFA Terms and Conditions
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Familiarity with customs handling and transport insurance
