Senior Planning Officer

Our client, is seeking a Senior Planning Officer to join their planning team on a contract basis. You will be part of a dedicated group of professionals committed to the development management of the borough. With a focus on handling various planning applications, ranging from major to strategic, this role is vital to the sustainable growth and future planning of the area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Processing and managing planning applications, including major and strategic proposals
• Advising on and facilitating effective service delivery for the borough
• Collaborating with planning policy and enforcement teams
• Attending developer meetings and planning committees
• Ensuring decisiveness and ambition in discharging statutory functions
• Providing comprehensive planning support across all levels

Job Requirements:

• Experience at a Senior Planner level from a local authority or private sector background
• Background in development management
• Proven capability in handling both minor and major planning applications
• Degree in a related subject or equivalent relevant experience and knowledge
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
