Job DescriptionPower Systems Studies Engineer(Senior / Lead / Intermediate)Location: Midlands, UK, Hybrid working.Salary: £50,000-£70,000 with bonus and pension.Start Date: ASAPKey Experience: HVDC, Renewable Energy. Power Systems StudiesTurner Lovell are currently recruiting Power Systems Engineers, Leads, Senior and Intermediate for our client. They are a world leader in the engineering and delivery of electricity solutions for renewable energy mega-projects globally. Due to recent success, they are growing the team across Europe and are currently recruiting a number of Power Systems Studies Engineers to perform comprehensive analysis and studies. You will support the development of offshore wind, HVDC and offshore electricity transmission projects across Europe, USA and Asia.In this critical role, you will model power systems and conduct steady-state, dynamic, harmonic, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) or electromagnetic transient (EMT) studies to support the design, implementation, and reliable HV schemes. You will provide technical leadership in your subject matter area, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with customers. In addition, you will have the chance to drive innovation by implementing emerging HVDC and HV technologies, control/protection solutions, and pioneering analysis techniques. Training is available for power systems study engineers with experience outside the high-voltage transmission sector.This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile global projects with an international team. You will have chances for career and skill development from a dynamic and people-focused leadership team.Duties:Model systems using a range to tools and deliver comprehensive, technically-rigorous study reportsDepending on your subject matter expertise, perform studies related to your skill area:Steady-state studies such as Load flow, short circuit, arc flash.Dynamic studies such as transient stability, control interaction studies, RMS of modelling.Harmonic studies - Harmonic performance, stability and filter designEMC studies such as RFI, EMFs, substation zoning, earthingEMT studies such as transient overvoltage, recovery voltage.Provide expert guidance and mentorship to other engineersCustomer project involvement, stakeholder engagement, and presentationsDevelop new processes, guides, and industrialize innovative study solutionsRepresent the company through technical publishing and working groupsRequirements:Power Systems Engineering degree, MSc or higher2-3+ years experience in industrial power systems studies roles in grid or electrification activities in other sector such as rail or power generation.Proficient with typical tools - PSS/E, DigSilent, MATLAB, PSCAD, FORTRAN, Excel, PythonAble to work to deadlines without jeopardising quality of work.Good technical communication skills to report, present, mentor and collaborate. .Self-motivating attitude with a track record of being proactive and results driven.Strong team player.This is a multifaceted opportunity where you will develop new processes, design guidelines, and cutting-edge study tools and methodsIf this sound like it could be your next career move and you would like to join the challenge of advancing the energy transition, please apply and contact Curtis Thompson or Yana Arif for more information. ##### / #####
