About Us:
Randstad is pleased to partner with the Looked After Through Care Team in Darlington to recruit an experienced and skilled Senior Practitioner Social Worker.
This role is essential for supporting children and young people who are in care, ensuring they receive tailored services and guidance as they transition into adulthood.

Job Description:
As a Senior Practitioner in the Looked After Through Care Team, you will manage complex cases, oversee transitions, and ensure that looked-after children and young people have access to the support they need.
You will provide guidance and mentorship to team members, making key decisions that impact the well-being and future of children in care.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of looked-after children, providing support and guidance to promote their well-being and development.
• Oversee care planning and pathway planning for young people transitioning out of care, ensuring they are prepared for independence.
• Provide mentoring and advice to social workers, assisting with complex case management and decision-making.
• Work collaboratively with external agencies, carers, and other professionals to deliver coordinated care.
• Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, such as care reviews, pathway planning meetings, and court hearings.
• Advocate for young people, ensuring their voices are heard in all care planning and decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Proven experience working with looked-after children, preferably in a senior or supervisory role.
• In-depth understanding of looked-after children's needs, pathway planning, and relevant legislation.
• Ability to manage a complex caseload effectively and mentor team members.
