EqualEngineers are pleased to bring to market an exciting new opportunity with a Global Leader helping a variety of customers across the Maritime, Oil and Gas, Renewables, Healthcare and Electrification industries to navigate the complex transition to a decarbonised and more sustainable energy future.The organisation are seeking a Senior/Principal Safety Risk Consultant with a proven ability to tackle complex technical challenges, to join the fast-paced technical safety consultancy department at the cutting edge of risk analysis techniques. This a great opportunity to be part of a growing team that is a trusted voice to tackle global transformations such as the decarbonisation of energy networks.Key Job Accountabilities:Developing and delivering technical solutions to customer issues through use of consequence modelling, frequency, reliability, and risk analysis of onshore and offshore major accident hazards.Managing projects and working on multiple projects to the satisfaction of the manager / Project Sponsor (i.e. within the required timeframe, cost, and quality standards).Applying consequence and risk assessment tools and techniques as appropriate – e.g. Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA), consequence analysis, numerical analysis, and other formal safety studies) and carry out safety case development, As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) demonstration, and any other technical safety work required to support clients in meeting their legislative and regulatory obligations.Supporting production of full close out reports to clients.Communicating with internal and external stakeholders; supporting efforts to win external work and managing bids on new projects.Improving delivery processes through innovation.Developing experience and expertise across project and team activities; providing professional support and guidance to less experienced personnel.Requirements:Degree in Chemical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or other relevant STEM degreeStrong relevant (technical safety and risk assessment) industrial experience.Excellent numerical and analytical skills – able to analyse and understand complex solutions and ideas using domain knowledge and a range of techniques/theory and software/tools.Experienced user of consequence and risk analysis software, and proven ability to tackle a variety of projects. Demonstrable expertise with PHAST / SAFETI is a key bonus.Good understanding of how safety and risk analysis is performed within EuropeExcellent verbal communication skills – ability to communicate with all levels in an organisation as well as external customers and manage projects effectively.Excellent report writing and presentation skills.Flexible attitude to working in a fast-paced and multi-disciplinary consultancy environment.Ability to work proactively within a team environment – collaborates effectively across internal departments and, where appropriate, globally.BenefitsExceptional Development and career progression opportunities with regular development discussions with your manager.Hybrid workingNon-contractual Profit Share Scheme.Lifestyle benefits: 26 days annual leave + bank holidays, opportunity for up to 10 days unpaid leave, sabbatical leave, flexible working options.Well-being benefits: (including Private Medical and Dental Insurance, Health Assessments, Gym allowance).
