Senior Procurement Manager

Procurement at BMS is a newly established global team with a remit to deliver value and manage third party risk effectively in support of BMS’s vision and goals.We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to work with the Head of Procurement to develop the function and build internal relationships to enhance Procurement’s reputation as a valued business partner.In particular, you will:Develop and deliver procurement strategies that optimise costs, maintain quality standards and manage riskLead cross-functional teams to deliver activities at all stages of the procurement lifecycleUse commercial insight to identify potential opportunities to drive savings and improve valueUpdate procurement policies and procedures to incorporate best practice including ESG, strategic sourcing & supplier relationship managementEvaluate and deploy appropriate technologies to streamline and support the procurement lifecycleIdentify opportunities for process improvements that enhance operational efficiencyDeputise for the Head of Procurement as and when necessaryUndertake any other tasks, activities and projects commensurate with the roleWhat we’re looking for – skills and capabilitiesEssential:Experience in delivering strategic procurement initiativesExcellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to effectively engage with and influence up to board levelExperience in managing indirect categoriesDesirable:MCIPS Global stakeholder management experienceProcurement experience in Financial Services sectorWhat we’re looking for - functional & behavioural competenciesStrong influencerExcellent communication Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data from multiple sources and develop visualisations to support decision makingChange and project management in a procurement environmentAbout BMSBMS is a dynamic, independent global broker established in 1980, delivering specialist insurance, reinsurance, and capital markets advisory services.
