Role purpose
An exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our Transformation team in London.
Reporting directly to the Programme Manager Cards this role will be responsible for the successful end to end delivery of new card programmes, products or features. With a laser focus on delivery, the successful candidate will be happy to roll up their sleeves and take an active role in implementing their project deliveries.
Using your delivery experience, you will manage small projects such as new marketing initiatives or card feature launches alongside larger projects to build and deliver entirely new card programmes for Travelex and our clients. You will work closely with our Product, Marketing and Operational teams globally to set up and manage the processes covering the entire customer lifecycle within a product-led change approach.
The successful candidate will be a prepaid card expert, with knowledge of Mastercard, Card Issuing and Card Programme activities. Therefore, we are ideally looking for someone who is currently operating as a Card Project Manager or Implementation Manager and will have significant people and project management experience, excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and a robust track record of delivering prepaid card projects (ideally B2C).
As a Senior Project Manager, you will have significant working experience in the entire lifecycle of card products and knowledge of prepaid card product & portfolio, be well versed with card product, process and compliance details related to prepaid/fintech cards and have successfully delivered prepaid B2C card projects in a busy and fast paced environment.
Key Accountabilities
Delivery Focus
The role requires effective co-ordination of card projects on time and budget ensuring effective management of key inter-dependencies with cross functional teams and key suppliers.
Ensure projects delivered meet the business requirements and have considered and delivered on project and ongoing operational requirements from back office and customer facing teams.
Communicate effectively (both oral and written), work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
Prepare and present reports and programme presentations to stakeholders as appropriate, and deliver project updates and metrics to the senior management team. Deliver programme reporting in line with the programme governance structure including Steering Committees at Executive level, and input into Board presentations as relevant.
Make objective decisions and recommendations, escalation of risks and issues.
Building relationships at all levels and influencing a range of senior stakeholders, challenging decision making to help drive continuous improvements.

Project Management
Responsibility for the successful completion of assigned project, establishing and maintaining the correct structures to control and monitor the deliverables to the business.
Assign, schedule, review, and monitor project work to ensure completion on time and within budget. Where relevant, ensure change requests are raised and approved.
Work with appropriate customers to identify the roles of team members within a project or workstream to secure the relevant project resources and gather estimates.
Identify, track, monitor and communicate issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that may arise during the implementation of project.
Maintain an audit trail of project deliverables, including change control, reviews and approvals for key projects and stage gates.
Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.
General
Undertake any necessary training associated with the duties of the post and participates in training and development procedures.
Comply with Travelex policies and standards.
Maintains confidentiality and observes data protection guidelines.
Carry out any other reasonable duties commensurate with their capability.
Experience and Personal Qualities
Essential
Prepaid/Fintech card experience.
Demonstrable experience implementing Mastercard or Visa card projects either working as or alongside an Issuer and/or Programme Manager.
Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently, applying knowledge, experience and initiative as appropriate.
Knowledge and understanding of the full
project/development
life cycle and the concepts and practices.
Ability to work in both Agile/Scrum delivery model as well as traditional waterfall.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Have the ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts and to prepare and present concise oral and written reports.
High attention to detail, well-organised and capable of handling multiple objectives and stakeholders.
Develop and maintain constructive relationships with senior management worldwide.
Proven experience interacting directly with end users and subject matter experts.
Independent, but also a good team player.
Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks, be able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Be able and willing to challenge upwards.
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including familiarity with Visio and Project.
Desirable
A good understanding of the cards industry, ecosystem and regulation.
Project methodology qualification.
Experience implementing MDES and wallet projects.
